I have received probably 100 or more calls today on my cell phone (which I do not give out) starting at 8:00 a.m. Everytime the number is spoofed to a different number, sometimes they are not real numbers. I finally called back from another phone. I finally got the girl to tell me it was Payday Advance, a loan company. I told them not ot call me any more. I doubt it'll help. I'm about sick of this and it's only one day. HELP!  I tried googling Payday Advance, but it only brought up the hundreds of title loan companies all over.

Are they demanding payment for a payday loan they claim you took out?  Get an address for them and send them a debt validation letter and if you don't get a debt verification letter from them within 5 days of contact, they are in violation of the FDCPA.  I won't go into all the details for fear of missing something and getting in trouble from A. Nonie Mouse or Shill Killer.  There are plenty of other discussions in this forum where you can get all the info you need.

Then the chances are its a scam op and not legitimate anyway. Cash advance loan fee's are illegal period.  And 9 is also right on the payday loan debt collection also.. all scams. You don't say for sure which kind of call it was, so assuming its really about getting a loan rather then collecting a supposed debt.  However, will post all the info for you just in case as some of the loan calls have been followed by debt collection calls.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.
