I also got a call on my mobile from this number. They must be the ones calling my office line (no Caller ID there). I may owe Capital One, but I'm current on my bills. No need for collections on me. I think I went over my limit once in the past 6 months which I took care of via their web site.
If this really is Capital One (or related company), I *WILL* close my account when the card is paid off.
I do have Capital One card but all payment current. No past dues. One time the other person said, "Can I speak to Heather?" Prior, the caller said "....what is your Capital One account number please?" I said that they are stupid. They asked, "you have Capital One card don't you?" I said yes but I am not going to give them my account number. I had my partner calls Capital One and Capital One said that all those calls are probably a fraud. The worst part is, there is nothing can be done about it!
I have been getting calls on or off for the past three weeks. I keep informing them they have the wrong party, and they assure me they will remove my number from their list. HAH!!! They keep calling.
Today I informed them that if they did not cease & desist I would contact our state's Attorney Generals Office.
Let's see what happens now.
Capital One Thru NCO Financials, they call from more than 10 different numbers including local area codes, seven days a week, 2 to 3 times an hour, ridiculous but they have to do it to try to collect a debt.
