I received a hang up call from this number on May 29th, 2009 at 9:00pm. I know the area code is from San Jose, CA. I have Telus, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are selling phone lists - I never give out my phone number, but I get a lot of random hang-ups from the US.
I received a call from 1 408 582 7186 on my Fido. I ingored the call thinking if it's important, they'll leave a message. No voicemail received. I called the number back and all I got was hold music...not even a ring...just went straight to hold music. Friggin scammers!
Didn't bothered picking it up as there's absolutely no reason for me to answer any number that's out of town. Turns out I was right based on this page.
