Just got a call from them. They knew the make and model of the vehicle, and wanted me to put a $550 deposit down on a new insurance plan. When I asked for a return number so I could verify them before I gave them money, they made up a bunch of nonsense about why they couldn't give it to me and they had to get the deposit now. I told him I'd put him on hold, then put the phone down but didn't hang up, and left.
Yes, I have received the same phone call too but this lady called my office and knew what kinds of vehicle that I own and she claim that the company work with Acura. Finally, I told her that I don't need the extended warranty and she tried to threaten me said,"It will be your responsibility" and I hung up the phone.
It was not Nissan but a third party trying to sell you an after warranty service contract. They purchase the data from DMVs then try to convince you they are authorized by your vehicle manufacturer or dealer to offer extended warranties. They are not. The manufacturers, dealers and honest mechanics all tell you to steer clear of these so called extended warranties. They are service contracts and not warranties and they have more ways to avoid paying for so called covered repairs than a Swiss cheese has holes.
Just received a call from this number and they evidently didn't hear me say 'hello'. I could hear a call center in the back and my 'operator' talking to another person. He was ranting about people using food stamps and how it was against the government. What??? I said, "Excuse me??" and he hung up. Real brainiacs they have working there.
