Who called from 4088435330

I am so glad you posted this!  I also got a call on June 18, 2010 from a man with a strong Middle Eastern accent who called himself Robert Carey.  He said I had taken out a Payday loan and had not paid it back.  He read off my social security number and my address.  When I denied taking out this loan, he said "If you or your attorney of record does not call me back immediately, all I can say is good luck as this situation against you  unfolds."  I called "Robert Carey" back and he said he would have to hang up and call me right back.  He did and I told him I was recording the call, which he said was fine.  He told me to refrain from using profanity because this phone call recording was being turned over to the government.  I told him I did not plan on using profanity and he said, "Oh you will want to use profanity after you hear what we have in mind for you."  I told him that he sure had an Irish-sounding name foor someone with a Middle-Eastern accent.  He then became upset and slammed down the phone.

THIS IS A SCAM- DO NOT SEND THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY.

I got a call from these same people. He had my bank account info and my social. I am scarred they are going to do damage to my account. Is that posssible? I actually did have a payday loan but it was paid off. I searched my account records for hours trying to see if there was money deposited that I was not aware off. There wasn't. I am so angry that they wasted hours of my time and gave me an anxiety attack. They threatened to send someone to my work and my house. Have people actually sent them money?

I recieved this message from a woman something Martin. She said the exact same thing as everyone on here staying she is sorry for what will happen to me.  Then she called my work. I told her that I was contacting my local police department and that she never needs to call me at home or at work.

I am glad for these posts also. I have been getting disturbing calls on my work and cell phone for a couple months non-stop now. I have not answered any of the calls since I am always at work while they call. I have recently filed bankruptcy also,a year ago actually, so any debt left unpaid would have been discharged. I am sure however, that I have no unpaid payday loans. It is obvious these people have access to Lexis-Nexis or some other skip-tracing sources which collectors use to get any new contact info that we may report when applying or inquiring about anything from credit, to car insurance, etc. The guy that calls me, is obviously the same guy, for he sounds exactly the same, with the same awful accent.  It always shows up as "0000" or something like that on the caller ID.  He uses different names, Officer Alex Williams, Robert Kerry or Cary. And though I was scared, I was still thinking it was a scam, since he'd always say he was calling from "The Crime Investigation Bureau" or just simoy, "the law office". He never could says a law office name.  They were the same threats: "I wish you the best of luck with the matter that unfolds to you and your Social Sec #". I mean, he could not even speak intelligently. So, I just thought I'd punch in the phone# online and saw these posts. It has put me at ease somewhat. However, I still want the calls to stop. It seems, after a while they just get another phone# to use, so even if we report it and someone [***] the # down, will it ever stop? I guess the only way to really stop it, is to change phone #'s and refrain from using those ph#'s on any applications or inquiries so they won't get it from any skip tracing.  Anything you all find out about how to escalate the matter and really stop the calls, would be greatly appreciated.
