Have been getting calls multiple times a week for at least two months. ATT on the caller ID and *69 gives you the #408-865-9464. After them hanging up on me every time I answer, I decided to call back. If you call that number, you will get another recording, you can leave them a message, I did today. Hopefully they take you off the list after leaving them a message. I called AT&T who is not affiliated and is basically clueless to it. After looking on the internet and seeing they affiliated themselves with the sheriffs, I wanted to see if the sheriff's office has any knowledge of it. Both AT&T and the Sheriff's Dept. took my info and said they would investigate .....
Calls everyday, same thing- says technical error if you answer- my number is registered with the Do Not Call Registry- I am going to find out next steps- because by all legal rights they should not be calling at all!
If "DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES" they can't talk to me EVER they need to take me off their list and stop the calls. I believe 1x there was a real person and soliciting funds for some local law enforcement, sheriff or police. They will NEVER get any $$ from me using this technique!!!!!
I have gotten a call from this number with caller ID SBC Messaging 3 days in a row. Today I called back. The message said technical difficulty blah blah but that they're offering a ticket for $40 to a family event by one of their clients who is exempt from the DO NOT CALL list. It gave me the opportunity to put my name and phone number on their 'in house' do not call list but I didn't want to give them any more info than what they already have.
I got a call from that number. A man's voice asked me if I was Ms "Smith" (not my real name in this e-mail). I replied by asking whi was calling. He then replied: " then, it is Ms Smith". and he hung up. Creepy....
