I have read the posts regarding the phone calls from this number. My office has received several as I have posted on this website as they have threatened my employee who no long works here and they threatened my company. this is of grave concern and I do not know who to contact regarding this threat.
I have received a couple calls, and they sound VERY fishy. They won't give any information, won't let you talk to a supervisor, and won't even give their real names. I know this because I was routed through a few different people and they each gave me more than one name when asked repeatedly. They claim that I owe someone $7500 from a loan taken out last year, but the address and contact information they have is all more recent than the supposed debt... again sounds fishy. They claim to be from the State Department of Texas- Affidavit Verification Dept. Also, after i told them i thought this sounded fraudulent they swore at me and called me names, threatened my wife (which i don't have), threatened to come to my house and kick my [***].... all of this sounds very fishy when claiming to be working for ANY state department.
Looked into it a little more- I can't find evidence of a "Affidavit Verification Department" or anything close to that in Texas or any state. In addition, the callis coming through Kountze, Texas, a small town of around 2,000 with no state buildings anywhere near it.
They kept calling me however after putting alot of Hank Williams Jr and Charlie Daniels Dand on the phone when I answered instead of talking they finally quite. They seem to really hate "Don't give us a reason" "the south's gonna do it again" and "if the south would have won" lol. Just a tip, lol.....
