Actually waited until 9:45 to call me !  The call started the same way as others have reported - i.e. trying to "guilt me" by saying something like "...you're hard to contact, etc. etc."  (that didn't work).  Then she went into her well-rehearsed spiel about "collecting for the ladies with breast cancer, blah blah blah".  I then asked her WHAT EXACTLY she/they were doing for "the ladies with breast cancer".  She replied that "they" make a financial contribution to the victims, and provide them "information".  (full disclosure - I'm a retired "problem solver" with Federal law enforcement, and a former insurance investigator).  My investigation has discovered that one of these ersatz "breast cancer charities" makes a one-time financial contribution of $500 to any woman who contacts them claiming to be a breast cancer victim.  THAT  is the beginning, and the end, of their "financial contribution"  This particular "charity" has collections/contributions totaling somewhere around $14  to $18 million, and a total "paid out" to the victims of somewhere around $40,000 !!  (Not these fine people, of course - they're all a bunch of choir boys - heh,heh, lol)  As a cancer survivor, I can tell you - you can't cure, or even treat, cancer with "information".  As a trained investigator, I'm not saying this whole thing is fraud, or even barely legal.  But, it simply doesn't pass the "smell test".  Before you give your hard-earned $ to someone like this (a voice over the phone) you have to ask, and answer 1 simple question - Is this REALLY where you want your charitable contributions to go ?
