Obviously they have been making calls for years. One of their current names is "AMVETS CDSI" that is the name of a multi-branched, twisted group of supposed charities claiming to help Vets. The calls are to solicit donations of clothes, etc. to be sold at their thrift store.
They used to use women calling from their home phones. Looks like they have moved up to full illegal telemarketers (calling for a charity does not exempt you from the DNC list).
Other names they use:
Maryland
Maryland Central Donations
Amvets
Central Donation Services Inc
Central Donations Services
Central Donations
CTRL Donations
Central Donation
Call is from american veterens we donated to them once and there auto dialer is apparently going crazy I have asked them now twice to remove my phone number from there list they are quite annoying. I don't mind donating love to help others out but this is harrassing to get so many hang up calls.
These folks call let it ring one or two times and hang up. Very annoying - they called me a lot about 6 months ago and I talked to someone and they stopped. Now they are calling again. I am on the do not call list - but they dont care.
This call is from Disabled American Veterans (AmVets). I donate to them fairly often. I leave the donated clothes, toys, furniture, etc. at the end of the driveway and a truck comes by to pick them up. I wish they would have their name show on the caller ID, when they call. If they did, they would likely get more donations from me.
Please remember as someone mentioned earlier, the Do Not Call List does not apply to charities.
These folks are extremely persistent. They are variously listed as "Central Donations" and "Central Telemarketing". If they represent AMVETS, which recently got an "F" rating for veterans' charities, then I recieve five calls per day from their various calling centers.
