I also received the text about my HSBC card being locked. Needless to say, I won't be calling 410-381-9455 like they want, but will be letting HSBC know about it (by calling the customer service number I have from my bank statement).
I received the same text message at 1:23am this morning that said Dear HSBC Customer, your card has been locked. Call (410) 381-9455 to unlock it. Since I have an HSBC card I contacted them this evening and they said they were aware of this and advised me not to call the number back. Since I have caller ID on my cell I checked the number where the call came from which is (800)233-7433; after some reserch I see the number is from a company called BEDSCAPES.COM I looked them up and they are a valid company.. Looks like someone at this company is sending these text messages.
