Got a harassing phone call from this number. They left a message on my answering machine.They claimed that they were with an IRS investigation office that was going to press criminal charges against me. Sound like a complete fraudulent call. I am certain that it's a phishing scheme of some kind. Just blocked the number don't fall for their line of garbage.
I received an email today from "Chris Matthews Attorney General" saying I was being prosecuted.
He even attached 2 files one an arrest warrant and the other a court summons.
Let me just say this, there were 5 words misspelled. You want to tell me that this is legit and I owe you almost 14000.00 dollars? There is no way a legitimate company especially someone from the government would have 5 misspelled words. Idiots!
Tamianth, thank you for your post I will be putting some of those links to use! It's totally and completely FRAUD people, I've been dealing with idiots like this for 6 years now. All from applying and being approved (not recieving, because I didn't want to pay the interest) for ONE payday loan. They sell your email info and other personal info to people just like this. They even found out where I worked and started calling them saying I owed money and that they needed my schedule so they could call when I was there. Luckily I worked with an amazing group of people and they had my back. This is ridiculous and I've had enough, this has gone on for 6 years. Countless harassing phone calls to me and my workplace and now emails. I'm sorry for anyone else going through this because it really is a nightmare.
i got the same email. scared the [***] out of me. i did open it and print it, was gonna take it to the police....now im scared i got a virus from opening it
I got this email and it scared the crap of me. He called me and said his name was Chris Matthews and said he was a lawyer calling about me being a fraud. He told me he was going to call my city police and have me arrested. If you receive phone calls or emails, delete it. Don't give him any kind of information.Their trying to get money from you. The phone number that called me was an unidentified number. So be careful! This is a Scam!
