Same: Mrs. Bower saying they'd been trying to reach me about recent changes to our BG&E supplier. Same Ref number E007118 and the same cough and "excuse me" - lot of thought going into this scam to make people believe it.

Got a voicemail from Mrs. Bower saying they'd been trying to reach me about recent changes to our BG&E supplier. She even coughed in the VM to make it sound authentic, but I'm sure it was a recording. Left me a reference number (E007118, probably the same one you got too) and asked that I have my BG&E bill available when I called back. I called back and got a very official sounding recording (this call is being recorded) but with no company name. Pressed '5' and spoke to a woman who asked for my name to verify my account. I refused and offered to give her the reference number from the VM; she insisted that she needed my name (probably because everyone gets the same reference number) and I refused again stating skepticism. She told me that they were an authorized energy supplier for BGE and that they were trying to save me money on my bill switching suppliers. I told her no thanks and hung up. Sadly I did not ask for the company name so they could be reported.
Same reference number and VM as everyone else said. Including the cough on the message. Funny thing is the electric bill is not even in my name. It's in a roommates name and hers is the only on the account so i know it's a scam. Bge is the only electric provider for the majority of MD. If they weren't, we would have switched by now. Don't give these crooks anything
Same cough and reference number (E007118). Still sounded recorded to me though. Highly annoying. Electric bill isn't even in my name either. It's under my mother's name. Total scam, don't fall for it!
