Exactly, the robo-calling criminals can program any number and Id they want into their machines, including pirating your personal home phone, cell and business numbers. All this is intended to hide their actual tie-line numbers from being traced. The only way to stop this endless telephone terrorism and harassment is, for example, to shut down the Verizon office that issues all of the tie-line numbers to the criminals, knowingly encouraging and facilitating all of the telephone fraud activity, then lock them up as well as the perps. The latter are well known to Verizon, including name, address and SSN, as the telco wants their monthly payments on time every month.
Calls every day. Not a bill collector because I am not behind on any bills. Never leaves a message, and even though I have the number "blocked", it still manages to get through. So annoying!
Spoofed number pirated from a block of numbers issued to University of Maryland at Baltimore, MD. Attributed to another criminal robo-caller offering the usual frauds. Blocked.
Called # and message said it is a "non-used # at U of MD-Baltimore. I take that to mean # is still under their control. They should either have it disconnected or they need to make sure it's not being used to annoy people with unwanted calls. I called U of MD-Baltimore and reported it and I'll call them back if I continue to get calls. Other people should also report it. If they get enough calls, maybe they'll act on resolving the problem.
