Two times now. First time a Middle Eastern man called from PEPCO to lower my rates. I went off on him. "Scam! Fraud! Why don't you get a real job where you aren't trying to steal from people! PEPCO doesn't even serve in this area!"
Two days later a Middle Eastern woman called from "Pepco". I told her I wasn't interested and that Pepco doesn't serve in this area. She started yacking and I just hung up.
Just got a call from this number. Hispanic female could barely speak English. From what I can understand, she was asking for my name, my electric service provider and my account number so that she could hook me up to a savings plan. I kept her on the line and asked her how many stupid people she actually got to tell her this information and then I hung up.
Be careful ... the caller told me they were an energy provider who could lower my electric bills ..... they asked for my name, electric service provider and my account number. It is some type of scam, definitely. Who knows what they can do with an account number. NEVER EVER GIVE THAT INFO OUT . We are on the do not call list but it never works. We get more damn phone calls for stupid things.
Someone from this number (410-988-4489) has been calling me DAILY for the past week, asking about my electric service provider. Each time I tell her I'm not interested and that I'm on the Do Not Call List. Yet, she still calls. I tried reporting the number to the FTC as a Do Not Call violator, but when entering the number it says the number is not registered. I have no idea what the company is, but the call is from Ellicott City, MD. I'm guessing they're getting around annoying people on the Do Not Call Registry by registering themselves as a non-profit. Great, I'm harassed daily and there's no recourse.
