The same thing happened to me right after I signed up for unemployment. They call but there's never anyone there when I answer. This is on my home phone. I very rarely give out my cell #, only to folks I know.
This person called me several times and I almost fell for the scam. He tried contacting my family. He had all my information and stated I did not pay back a payday loan. However I have no open payday loan because all of them were taken from my checking account. He is now calling my job stating it is a legal matter. How can I stop him once and for all. They have several phone numbers they use and you can't get information online for them. I want to track them down because now it is getting out of hand and who know how many people they are cunning out of money. Also they are disrespecting me at my job and this is wrong.
This number called me and didn't leave message. When I called back I was automatically placed on hold. I waited for a representative. It was some company called something like Safe Energy company that Duguesne Light supposedly authorized them to call me to promote their "energy savings" company. I told them that I am not interested and to take me of the list and he was pretty promped about it and asked me if I had any other numers for them "not to call me at" and that was it.
I have been getting these calls for about a year and a half. When the caller call they ask for the person and I said i do not know that person. They ask if I will be home between 9 to 5 that they have a warrant to issue. I said please send them so that i can get your address, they hang up and call from another number.
