They called and a woman with a thick accent said she was calling on behalf of USAA and asked for my date of birth and social security number. I told her I could not give that to her over the phone. She was very polite and said she could not continue with the call without verifying my information. I then called USAA and they had no idea who this was or why they would be calling me,
They call me endlessly. When I answered they told me they were calling about an important business matter from my bank and requested my date of birth and social security number. I told them I would not give this information and they told me they could not continue the call due to the sensitive nature of what they wanted to discuss. I declined. I called my bank and asked what they would be calling about. The bank said there should be no one calling me about my account. They just called again and asked for my mailing address to verify my identity before they could continue and I told them that I had spoken with the bank, the bank had told me they were not calling on the bank's behalf and that it was a phishing scam. I told the woman to remove my name from her list. She thanked me and told my they would remove my name. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION - THIS IS HIGHLY SUSPECT.
