Charles Platt wanted to speak with the owner or president of the company regarding a GSA contract with the federal government.  He refused to give any further details and finally hung up when I told him the main office was overseas.  He was plenty pushy at first but sounded pretty dumb when I pointed out what anybody with half a brain should know.  Let's see: area code 412 is Pittsburgh, PA.  ???

He called here wanting to speak to the owner/president about GSA contracts. I said we don't have any contracts with the government. He asked for the owner again, and when I said I AM the owner, he hung up

At first asking for the owner or president, when I told them I was married to the owner of the company, the caller agreed to talk to me.  He did a big song and dance about giving my info to another (screening) party to get on a list of preferred vendors for government contracts.  Upon further questioning, he kept doing the same schpeel, to which I told him he wasn't answering my questions.  I finally said that there was obviously a cost in getting on this list, or having them be the laison between us and the govt, and being a small company, we had no budget for marketing or such a service.  He then asked if I get paid for my work... I wasn't sure where he was going with this so I hesitated and he repeated the question.  I replied with "of course" to which he said "well then why the f*** due you think we would work for free?"  and hung up.

I got a robo message that had already started saying something about government contracts and they could help us get them.  We don't do any government work and have told them this before.  They are charging for a service that you can do for free yourself by going online.
