No county clerk or government entity has anything to do with personal debt disputes, unless there is n active court case and that's between the attorneys, their clients and the judge. Debt collectors have nothing to do with any government agency except to be regulated by the state they are in--provided they are legal debt collectors and not scammers.

Got a call with from this number 5012911947 (ARKANSAS). Said that I owe a past due amount of $1300 from a payday loan in 2011. Told me that the loan was originally owed $390.00. So, I asked if I took out a payday loan and I hadn't paid them then why wouldn't they call me and seek payment. They told me that I received legal notification at an old address. So, I asked where are you located or the creditor and can I have their number. She said no sir I cannot give you the number nor the number to where this office is located. Then because I was asking so many questions she quickly said that I will receive a notification 7-10 business days. While I have not taken out a pay day loan, this lady didn't even try to verify my address. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!
Even more if you give me a summons my rights to fight it do not get forfeited as she stated. Moreover, she said that they would serve me at my place of residence or my employer. Ok....you don't even know that the place you mentioned I haven't lived there in almost 5 years and second you don't even know where I work!!!!......SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!!
Have had 2 rounds of calls from people claiming to be with Location Services out of Jefferson County KY representing Compass Capital about electronic loan and threatening that I will be taken to court for criminal charges of theft by deception and defrauding a bank. Claimed to have verified loan, closed account with my bank, called my bank and just as I knew, no loan was ever deposited, no bank account closed, no attempt to collect anything. Calls from Chad Miller at 502-221-7063 in KY, mutliple calls from unknown or no caller ID, asked to call and speak with "legal dept" at 866-536-9402, strong arm tactics from people there trying to get me to "settle" to avoid charges.
Same exact scenario. Wanted my debit card info to set up repayment on a loan I supposedly took out in 2011 with Compass Capital. If I don't set up repayment I could pay over $2,800 and they will hunt me down. Asked for proof and they haven't provided any. Called from 8442508715.
