I just received the EXACT same call this morning! Caller said my social security number was flagged by the FBI and I was going to be in BIG trouble if I didnt cooperate, because the company "Cash Advance" was looking to sue me! He asked for personal information, and when I wouldnt give it he got very frustrated and hung up on me. Little does he know I have NEVER done a payday loan or any other type of loan.. EVER! Not to mention I havent worked in 5 years, and you have to have a valid job to apply for a loan! IDIOTS!
The man is very rude on the phone when you ask him questions. I asked him who was sueing me and he said they don't want to talk to you, I am talking for them. I told him I needed the name of the company and he got very harsh and told me we need to resolve this matter or I would be in severe trouble possible jail. How can I get them to quit calling me?
I received two calls on two different telephone numbers from an Officer Davis, who has a very heavy Indian accent. He said that he received a report that my name would soon be downloaded into the Courts database. He knew my home address. He was help me prevent this becoming a legal matter. 1-412-360-8423 is a bogus caller. I somehow ended up on a list of short term loan companies and have gotten many email proposals. I believe this must be the source of these scam artists.
I got a call stating I owe on a payday loan and if i didnt pay it i was going to be sued. The mans name was Officer Anthony Williams and he said if i didnt pay he was going to send my information to the court house where i live. I told him i was going to file a complaint him and he said WHERE DO YOU LIVE U [***]! What can i do about these phone calls? Someone please help me!
I had a call the other morning stating the same thing. I insisted on the caller to be more specific in what he was trying to say and he began to get frustrated. He stated a persons name and number that I had just met and then began to tell me that I had a law suit filed against me for financial fraud that the person had used me as a reference. Then gave me the persons number since I refused to give any pertinent information about myself. These people need to be stopped. You are so right!!! He didn't speak english well at all!!
I am getting the same threatning calls. I filed for bankruptcy in may, and I have a collection agency calling saying I am going to be served with court papers and they are suing me for check fraud. They first said they were representing my credit union and a cash advance. The credit union name they gave me changed over four years ago. When I called the credit union they said they had no idea what I was talking about. The calls won't stop, they refuse to take my bankruptcy filing number saying I need to send them proof, hello what do they need they can verify that with federal bankruptcy courts. That bankruptcy doesn't protect me from check fraud. I asked why didn't they go after me for fraud six years ago when I aquired the debt, they just push a button that says recording now. This is getting really annoying and they are calling my friends now too!
