These people call me claiming I owe them money and  threathen me with lawsuits and arrest and etc: I have went to my local authorities and they told me to just ignore them and gave me a federal agency I can call. It amazes me how they can barely speak english but their names are always Officer Johnson or some other american name. This is one of the biggest scams in our history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been getting calls from "Officer Eric Johnson" from the Law and Legal Dept. for a few weeks now. Before that he was "Officer Scott Wilson" from the United States Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the 4 times before that I really don't remember who he was. As always, his turbin is wrapped a little too tight, because he doesn't have my name right, he has the wrong bank info for me and he keeps telling me I need to tell him the correct info. I have also been told it is not HIS job to give me the info that he has. Well WHOSE job is it then?? Just a bunch of crap. Already reported him to my states Attorney General, and the FBI. Apparently they just change their "magic jack" number and start it all over again. Just thought I would warn people what is going on!!

I got a very long message tonight on my cell phone from a 412 area code number (not exactly the same as this one, but very close).   The man barely spoke English but he repeated several times that someone was using my identity as a "guarantee" and that if I did not call him back immediately, he would have "no choice" but to file this through the court system and I would be responsible for "many legal fees".    He said his name was "officer Mike" (though he sure didn't sound like a "Mike!") and repeated again that it was urgent that I call him tonight or I'd be in trouble/would owe a lot of money.

Immediately I figured it was a scam because:
1. How would this guy, or anyone else, know a person is using my identity?    If that were truly the case, I have a feeling the phone call wouldn't focus on my responsibility to pay this guy in order to keep my case out of court...
2.  If another person is caught using a stolen identity, wouldn't THEY be the ones in trouble?
3.  I could hear phones ringing in the background.   Likely a call center.
4.  How would he have my cell number, but not my home number?

I'm not even calling back; however, I'm afraid scammers like this will get some poor elderly person, scare them half to death and wind up with a lot of personal info.  :{

Lauged at how funny this was...
"Investigation Officer Scott Wilson" called me today to warn me that "If I didn't call back, there would be severe consequences that would unfold about me." He called my WORK PHONE!!! Not cool. But just so you all know, his newest number is 1-866-463-1803.
