Nothing will come of it as long as you don't pay them extortion money. You people need to do 2 things. First, report this to the real police, and second, stay off of that site (POF)

Yes it is an extortion scam being run on or by that site. There are numerous number threads her with the same story.
I got the same thing happening to myself with the same number trying to blackmail me over 900$. For a replacement Iphone and cancelation fee. Said his name was Robert Williams and daughter was Rachael. Said he wanted a payment plan and to check in with him everyday. It all sounded fishy and since ive read this on here I know that I got scammed glad theres such a thing called the internet!
