I keep getting calls from companies, most of them say they are trying to fix my Microsoft problem. The number says the mailbox is full when you call it back.
I get these calls all the time. After a while I learned to piss them off by keeping them on the phone and giving them some information (fake of course) using fake voices (foreign or elderly are my specialties). I read off a bogus credit card number using the first 4 digits of a legit MC or Visa and the next 12 are random. They spend about 10 minutes researching the information and then they read back the numbers and I tell them one of the digits was incorrect and give them another. After 20 minutes or so when they tell me the number is still no good - I usually end the call by saying a few choice words. I don't wait for a response, this time I get to hang up on them!!!
My last call was awesome - I told the girl that my credit card was in my car and because I am elderly it might take me some time to get it. I gave her play-by-play as I was walking out to my car (of course I was just sitting at my desk). I kept complaining about how getting old my hip was not very good and that it might take awhile. I would ramble on for about 15 minutes about this and that and finally say I got to my car but I forgot my key, then explaining how old I was getting and forgetful...I even forgot who I was talking too on the phone and then hang up.
You just gotta have fun - I think they yank you from their call list once you piss "them" off!
Block all telemarketing phone calls...LOL good luck with that! Fact is that the number may be a Sprint number but was most likely spoofed. These scammers spoof and use different numbers to everyone they call. Why do you think they can't be shut down?
The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card number to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
