The caller ID read, "NOT IN USE," so apparently these clowns are so inept they can't even spoof the name. Do I want an alarm system from them? Since it would probably call the gas company to report a burglary, I think not.
Seriously folks, we all should be use to or aware of this scam by now. The same "home security?" scam has been going on for years. Telemarketing calls and robo calls are illegal. These callers are criminals looking to steal your personal information like identities and credit card information.
There is no home security company. They wont install anything, there is no service provided, just theft. The fake calls come alot from the 417 area code. So beware. The numbers are spoofed/faked to disguise their true calling number and identities.
Report the calls to the Do Not Call List or to FCC or to your State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs. Unfortunetly, these calls will persist. They are ebb and flow and now they are flowing again. So be warned. Caller signs are all the same. out of area number, wierd caller ID, telemarketing call, robo call.
Never ever give personal information over the phone. Not for health insurance, not to lower your interest rate, not for a free cruise, not for a survey and not for home security. It is the law, know your laws folks.
Don't let criminals ruin your life by allowing them to steal your credit card info or drain your bank accounts. Identity theft is the worse. It can literaly destroy your life. Be smart and suspicious of calls from now on. Telemarketing scams are on the rise. They are the new email spam.
Giving away 20 "free" home security systems in our area. Made me repeat 2 questions-- Are you selling something and we are on a do not call list-- What's up with that-- a recording? Then he hung up on me. Can't someone stop these? Tempted to disconnect the phone altogether.
