I receive calls at least 3-4 times a day from various numbers claiming there are discrepancies in our Google listing. I have asked repeatedly to be removed from their call list yet the calls keep coming. I feel we get MORE calls since the DNC list was started.
I check my logs to basically laugh at these scum that do not have a life. They call blocked numbers which is beyond me...you would think that would be a waste of time for them. If you are calling blocked numbers multiple times a day, how can you scam people and make any money. Try planting a tree so that you can put back the oxygen you are stealing. BOTTOM FEEDERS
Seems to me that just picking up the phone tells their computer the number is live. I think the better strategy is to pick up thus making their success rate lower. Even better is to engage them in conversation to waste their time and lower their productivity--then maybe they will go out of business. Remember, the computer is tireless in dialing.
I have an even better solution... One I have used with good results! Download an app on your phone that automatically redials and then set it up to call them every minute and hang up on them after 10 seconds. The law states that they are a business and can't complain about receiving calls (which is how they get away with calling many of us) so it ties up their phone line and they can't do anything. I have let my redialer go for days at a time until they have to change their number. I figure if I harass them enough and cost them enough money then they will decide it is best to just leave me alone. :)
