I receive calls at least 3-4 times a day from various numbers claiming there are discrepancies in our Google listing. I have asked repeatedly to be removed from their call list yet the calls keep coming. I feel we get MORE calls since the DNC list was started.
NEVER push a button or call a number or anything else. Any interaction confirms you are a "live" number and they'll never leave you alone. They'll most likely sell your information to the thousands of other jerks just like themselves.
Here's some information from Fox news - it applies to any telemarketers, not just credit cards.:
“If you receive a robocall about lowering your credit card rates, hang up immediately. Taking any action by pressing a key on your phone will likely lead to increased robocalls, regardless of what the automated message tells you. Also, remember that these calls are part of a scam. The “service” being advertised in the call cannot save you money. In most cases, the real goal of the call is to collect your number to sell to other scammers or to charge your credit card with phony fees.”
i get upwards of 10 calls from this phone number a week. Every time, I call back and press one to be added to the do not call list.... I still receive calls from the number daily.... Once, I tried to talk to an actual person by pressing 0. Nothing happened; instead, after about 45 seconds, a was told by an automated message that "I would be placed on the do not call list," was called again that same afternoon. :( This number is more of a nuisance than a scam.
