I get several calls a week from these [***] hats. I tell them they are a scam. They called to day and hung up. I tried to call them bak to ripb their [***] but was unable to. It goes to a auto message about "press 1 to be on do not call list"
I've gotten calls from these folks before, even though my number is listed in the National Do-Not-Call Registry. Since they are breaking the law by calling me, here's how I discourage their business model:
1) Feign interest in the service (even though it is semi-worthless and costs $40/month). Ask lots of questions and take up as much of their time as possible.
2) Set up an appointment (after promising to pay with a check upon installation of their crap - no CC# involved).
3) Don't be home at the scheduled date/time.
4) If they contact you again, apologize for the mix-up, reschedule, and do the same thing.
5) Try to get a mention of the DNCR before they give up.
These folks and others of their ilk realize that the DNCR doesn't present any prosecutorial threat to them, so it is up to US to put them out of business. PUNK DA' PHONERS!
