Called my mother who has Alzheimer's. I interrupted the call and the guy got snotty about that. I demanded to know who he worked for. No answer. Demanded to speak to a manager. He hung up. A search says it is the Telcove company whoever they are.
I have an unlisted number and I am on the PA do not call registry but keep receiving calls from 412-879-6096. Caller ID just states Out of Area. Called 10.22.13 at 1:42 pm and again 10.23.13 at 2:21pm. I refuse to answer the phone for these types of callers and they hang up when the automated voice for the answering machine kicks in.
I received a call from this number twice today. The first time I answered there was no response. The second time, a man responded- first by saying my name and asking me if I was that person and then he said he was from the Homeless and Disabled Veteran's. I told him that I couldn't help him at this time but, I do worry if when I confirmed my name if he will use that as a positive response that I agreed to donate money. This has happened to me before. I received a mailer stating that I agreed to donate money over the phone when I never had. When I call the number to let them know this- I was berated and yelled at - being told that I don't like Veterans, which is not the case- since at times I have donated to them. I do have to admit though, that after being treated that way- I have not donated since.
I've been receiving calls from this number for over a week, at least 3 times a day. I usually just let them go through to the answering machine, but they never leave a message. Finally today when I saw the number come up on caller ID, I figured I'd pick up to see who it was. Association for Homeless and Disabled Veterans. Lucky for them, they were cordial when I refused to donate, but since this was already the third call today from them, I had already reported them on the Do Not Call Registry.
