FWIW - the CharityNavigator linked to by "Smarter than", below, finds at least 22 organizations with "breast cancer" and "awareness" in their names -- all unrated, though many quite legit-looking. (Naturally, THIS one is NOT legit, as the unavailable ID proves...)
We got a call from this number today at 11:21 am and didn't answer. The caller ID was SPRINGFIELD MA. No voice mail message was left. When I called back (our number is hidden by default on outgoing calls), there was no answer. I am grateful for the information given in other posts and will add the number to our call blocker.
I got a call from this number today at 6:15pm, like Ken said in his message, the ID said SPRINGFIELD MA. They asked for my dad by name but my dad has been dead for 6 years now so why in the heck would they need to talk to him. After they ask for him I said, sorry he's dead, they hung up and the robo messaged started it's usual scam message. Just ignore this number if they try to call you.
This woman has called several times asking for my mother, even after I told her she is dead and to take my number off her calling list. So lately I have been forwarding her calls to my Google Voice account and adding her to my unwanted caller list. The calls stop for a while until she changes her number and tries again. The last time she called was sometime in February.
She called again this afternoon at 5:41 and left a long voice mail message giving her full name and trying to justify what she's doing. Her name is Amanda Krespas (not sure of how she spells it). I just listened to the message without responding and she hung up.
She called today, asked for my husband by name. When I told her he was unavailable, she changed her tune and said this call was for either of us but she didn't have my first name. She said she was calling for some breast cancer fund raising charity. I cut her off, but she wouldn't stop talking. I finally asked to be taken off her list, she said "of course but I'm required to ask more info". I said no you aren't and I'm blocking you. She kept talking! I blocked her while she was talking and then hung up.
