3/20/15 1224p & 1240p. I too look @ caller id before I pick up now. I made a real call @ 1230. Then their call @ 1240 begin to feel like something knows when I make a call or are on the phone I do not go to call waiting. A friend suddenly is getting these also. Do they target an area then go on to another? Today I am checking out the last 7 calls that came to box in last 3 days. i agree they do not end. I do not answer as 2 of my friends have gotten upsetting calls---{ 1 did call the police}
Just got a call from them, again. Seems every few days. I hit the display dial and my phone dialed them; then, the voice said to "Enter '1' to be taken off the call list," so I did. I'll see if they call back. A few weeks ago I sent the FCC a whole list of numbers like this one and stated I was fed up with robo-callers, etc. The FCC sent a few email responses and in the last one said they couldn't really do anything.
I was able to find a good list of what's called the Vertical Service Codes from WikiPedia. These codes are all the * codes like Anonymous Call Rejection (*77, undo *87), Call Blocking (*60), Caller ID disable (*85), and many others - about 35 in all. These codes work on all phones (even on rotary dials) and the phone company cust. service people don't seem know about these (or they don't want us to use them). Check out the list; look it up on WikiPedia.
Robocall. Voicemail left that begins, "This is pertaining to your current electric bill." A legit company would have a real name on Caller ID, not just a spoofed "NORTH ADAMS MA." Scam!
