3/20/15 1224p & 1240p. I too look @ caller id before I pick up now. I made a real call @ 1230. Then their call @ 1240 begin to feel like something knows when I make a call or are on the phone I do not go to call waiting. A friend suddenly is getting these also. Do they target an area then go on to another? Today I am checking out the last 7 calls that came to box in last 3 days. i agree they do not end. I do not answer as 2 of my friends have gotten upsetting calls---{ 1 did call the police}

Yet another in the next wave of spam calls. No longer the easily ignored/blocked out of state calls, but now local ones (at least from my perspective in Massachusetts)
Any legit business will either have a real caller id or leave a message.
The real scammers here are the carriers who allow spoofed phone numbers and anonymous calls. Calls that go through or go to voice mail get charged and they make money. Do you really think they couldn't stop this if they forced to? Start complaining about the carriers and maybe the fcc or the government will do something.
I had just purchased a "Telephone Call Blocking Device". As I was signing off from my online store the phone rang with a caller ID from these jamokes for the gazzillionth time. I keep a log of unsolicited calls and scam calls with the intention to someday send it off to authorities. It now totals 240 numbers. Verizon only allows you to block ten, and then only if they are not a charitable, non profit, or political call. This particular caller or group of callers ID'd as from North Adams, MA has seven numbers in my list (413-346-5454, -5464, -5472, -5473, -5476, -5477, and -5487) ...so far. Possibly the numbers are spoofed from some college brats elsewhere to mislead that the numbers are from North Adams. Possibly it actually is from North Adams. Whatever the case, it's a pain-in-the -adams that will cease after the device arrives.
