Caller ID said North Adams & since I do not know anyone in that part of the state I did not pick up. No message was left and I am very ANNOYED to be bothered like this on a residential private line. IDIOTS will not get any brownie points for their intrusion!
letting your answering machine pick up is the worst thing you can do. It only confirms the number is active. Get phonetray blocking software, they have a huge database of numbers that it blocks automatically and plays the telephone company's "this line is not in service message" (or any other message you want)...phone tray gets you off their lists and you can block numbers in many ways...but if your machine picks up then you get calls daily from these fools and many more...made my house far more peaceful...you can even look up a number while it is ringing and block it should it be a new number not in their database.
