They called about my MasterCare (Debit Express) - my card has been locked and I need to speak with their Security Department - I hung up. My bank has told me in the past that they will call me personally and verify it is me before they go into any information if my card is blocked for any reason.
they called telling me that they were US Bank and that my card was deactivated. They wanted me to talk to their security department to activate it. I don't even use US Bank. My hubby got a call also scything that National bank wanted to activate our card. We don't use that bank either! Some scam thing is going around.
Got call from 413-555-0128, Sounded Indian, said they have been noticing that I've been getting problems with my computer for 2 weeks, That I probably have a virus. Sensing this is a scam, I decided to have fun, acting surprised I asked what should I do? He said hang up Mother..... then HE DID. They wouldn't answer call back. Line was busy!
This is our 6th "Dir Asst" call from various states of the US and even one from Quebec (450) area code!
All the telephone exchanges start with 555 - an exchange which is not used for public telephones in the USA.
It's the east Indians calling telling you that you have a virus in your Windows computer and they need access to same.
Do not let them into your computer! Better yet, simply do not answer these stupid SCAM calls.
Received a call saying their was some security issues with our bank account. They wanted our personal information so as to verify we were the right party. I gave them false information and when they verified that is was false, they swore that more infidels will die because of my actions. Sounds like an ISIS front.
