I have been receiving a call for MA Dir Assistance 555-1969 for days now ... they can call me a couple of times a day, no message is left ... so very annoying ... Isn't there something that can be done about this??????

Robo Call: "You are eligible for electric bill discount.... press 5 to speak to a representative..."
Notice this has to be fake "555" is not a normal number, only used in films to not conflict with real phone numbers.
In addition to being used in films, 555 is used as a special exchange by the phone companies. For example xxx-555-1212 will get you to Directory Assistance for the area code xxx, at least it used to. I am also seeing 555-xxxx appear on automated message calls from the Military Health Clinic I use but that may be a misconfigured autodialer. In general, you will not receive calls from numbers with 555 as the exchange.
I have had several different numbers come up as Directory Assistance using the 555 number. I know it isn't a real number. When I called the number that came up it said it wasn't valid. My electric bill is fine and they also call my cell phone. I just will answer one time and not say anything and give them a really bad attitude. I will notify theFederal Communication Commission and file a complaint so something c an be done. They won't scam me.
