I've been getting calls from this 1 414-000-0000 every day for a week and a half now.
I Googled the number and found this message thread. I called the switchboard at that hospital and sure enough, that number shows up as the caller ID for any outgoing calls from that hospital.
The bummer of it is, the switchboard told me that there is no way for them to look up who within the hospital is mistakenly dialing my number, thus there is no way to make it stop. That bothers me!
I too work at a hospital switchboard and there are times that I get people calling in and telling me that they are getting calls on their home phone where someone within my hospital is mistakenly trying to fax their home phone number.
All I have to do is take their number down and give it to my supervisor, she then goes to our PBX room and traces the call to that number. Then we're able to tell if it's our Lab or Radiology department, etc., and we can contact them and tell them about their error.
I don't understand why this hopsital can't do the same thing!
