These people have been calling me at work for the past couple of weeks using different #'s saying that I had received money from a payday loan company(which I did not) and that they could not access my bank account to be repaid. They have called using the names of Sean Lee, Jeff Miller, Mike
Wilson,all with a heavy Indian accent.They also give the company name as Financial Accounts Association. They will talk to anyone in your office about you and tell them all the threats against you. We realize that this is a scam, but they want stop calling even when you tell them that these numbers are all over the internet.We have told them that we were reporting to the FBI, then they claimed to be the FBI. They also told us that no one can find them.
Send them a certified letter asking them to stop calling you and their are in violation of the FDCPA Fair Debt Collection Practice
Act. If they continue to call they are in violation and it is $1000 per violation. I got this info from a lawyer.
