I've been working on my yard landscaping this morning and wasn't near my phone. So far, I've received 4 calls from this number over the past 2 hours. Interestingly, caller ID shows San Rafael, CA, then Unknown, then San Rafael, and then Unknown. In between each of these calls, I've received calls from (281) 310-5535, identified as originating from Houston, TX. I believe all these calls come from the same scammers, located in India. The major telecommunications networks and the US State Dept., working in conjunction with the Indian government recently raided a few of the most agregious call centers, arresting dozens of the scammers. In addition, the US telecommunication companies have said that they will put in place programming that intercepts these scammer robocalls. I have a feeling that the scammers will develop alternate 'cloaking' programs that will allow them to bypass the robocall interceptors. In the meantime, all we can do is not pick up the phone and block the calls.
