I received 2 voicemail messages from the robotic voice claiming to be officer Julie Smith from the IRS, phone number 415-234-9481, Novato, CA. I called the number and a man with an Indian accent answered asking for my attorney's name and number. He said they would be filing suit against me in the next 2 hours and that I was being charged with violation of the Internal Revenue Code and tax fraud. He said they would get me and put me in jail. He claimed that they had notified me by certified mail in August (this is November) and since I didn't respond, they are charging me. He read a very lengthy legal document and when he finished, asked if I had any questions. I was too stunned to answer so when he got no response from me, he hung up. I filed a complaint about this with the FTC.
