Same garbage...called my cell claiming to be the IRS. Didn't sound legit do I hung up and called back...straight to voicemail, with no indication whose voicemail it was. Called them again and person who answered immediately asked for a credit card number without even asking for my name...WOW!!! Report this # to the authorities.
They left a message on my home phone claiming to be the IRS. It was a very threatening voice mail. They said if I did not call, that the IRS would take action. I did call back and the call started out threatening, They asked me for my home number, which I gave them, and they repeated back my home address. Then they proceeded to ask what my criminal attorneys name was. I told them no and the call hung up. I called back multiple times and the call would with go to voice mail or they would pick up and get disconnected. Very suspicious! I do believe this is fake as well.
received 4 automated calls from this number on Oct 15, 2014. The message said, " I need you or your retained attorney of record to return this call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. I am Julie Smith from the Internal Revenue Service" and then she states her number. I returned this call and it went directly to voice mail. I did not leave any information except the phone number they called.
Me too! An automated "Officer Julie Smith message from the IRS" called me. It must be a fake. The IRS would send a certified letter requiring a signature apon arrival.
