I received a text message from [email protected] stating to call People's United Bank at 1-415-240-4109, I called the senders number and he said he is receiveding 100's of calls it is a SCAM!
I received a robo-call from "Chase" re: strange spending on my CC account last fall. Not trusting ANYONE, I hung up on the recording and immediately called the number on the back of my card, just to be safe. Sure enough, some jerk had gotten my number and was using it at Walmart.com. I thought the robo was a scam, and regardless, I will never call or give info to a robo-call from any financial institution who uses this practice. That's why they put customer svc # on statement and back of credit card. By the way, Walmart .com told me that they could not give any info on the fraudulent charges, not even the fake email acct or origin of the transactions. They could only give it to the police. NICE. Will never set foot in a Walmart again, thank you very much! The best thing is that my cc was cancelled and reissued, but I did not receive it until after Christmas. I had a wonderful excuse to stay within my holiday shopping budget!
just called Chase directly to see if the text was from them. the numer is not a Chase Bank phone number. was a phishing scheme to get more info on the debit card and my account. definately fraud
