These guys have sweat shops set up in India and elsewhere that do VoIP call forwarding so it looks like they are from the US but they are not. They have auto dialers to do DoS (Denial of Service) on companies and light up the entire switchboard. They are extortionists that are scaring people into sending money. We called the around, even the FBI, and nothing can be done. If you call the carrier from where this number originates, they will shut the number down but that is only an irritant for them and doesn't solve anything. All you can do is don't talk to them and they will get bored and move along.
Called and left a message on business phone for an employee who doesn't even work here anymore. Said she ( I think a woman) was with the IRS, and said it was very time sensitive and not to ignore your responsibility. THey threaten you and then tell you "I hope you have a nice day." You can't even understand half of what they say! SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have received multiple calls that come across my phone as private. Today a man with very thick Indian accent, said his name was Jim Brown, left 2 messages. One left at 8am and another one at 11:30. Stated there was a deficiency with my income taxes. I work with IRS often and they always use USPS and always leave employee id number. Going to try to find way to report this as fraud on IRS website.
yea i receive the same call from these people and cannot understand nothing they were saying. they actually scared my wife but i was like the number looks unfamiliar and if the IRS was going to call you they would leave a message you can understand at least.LOL. all I can say is nice try Indians def a scam I'm sure of it. I actually call the number back LOL and she said she was with the bureau of investigations from the IRS LOL and ask what do i want, ha ha, and I'm like you all call me and then she hangs up the phone on me. so i call back because, buy then i was sure it was a scam and just wanted to be a dick wad but they never pick up it went to voice mail and we all know the IRS doesn't have voice mail. But people don't be fooled buy these ppl. God bless americans
