I just received a call from that # telling me he was a dea officer and that he had officers 5 minutes from my house. He wanted me write down his "badge" number and some other stuff, I told him this was a scam and hung up on him
My son got a similar call from 415-251-8119 looking for me. Couldn't even get my old name right. I was smart and did a search on the number before even attempting to call back. I will report it to the DEA # on the website.
OK- they almost had me! I just spent half the morning on the phone with "Officer Paul Peters" who told me I was on the verge of being arrested for ordering pills online ten years ago. He had me convinced to the point where I rushed down to my bank, withdrew the $4300 that was supposed to be my "fine," and was on the verge of having a heart attack. He then told me to go to 7-11 to trade the cash in for "cards," which would be picked up by the FedEx guy in the morning. At this point I finally clued in that it might be bogus, and checked the number on the internet. PTL for these reporting websites! Saved me $4300!
