Put me down as part of the club. Ominous message telling me to pay up, then ended the call with "take care". How thoughtful of them. I've already got my checkbook open and pen ready. Let me just call em back and rustle a few feathers :)
We received 2 calls from them in one day. The computer-generated voice said she was from the IRS and that I should call them back immediately before the matter escalates.
leaves robotic message says to call heather grey from IRS back at 415 251 8730. when i call i get busy signal or it rings once and drops off. when i finally get through to someone person asks for my name and asks if i'm aware of any back taxes. i say i don't know what u are talking about and then hangs up. Every time i get through i get hung up on. thought it was my phone service but until i found this site i finally realize it's a scam. IRS would have 1800 number and wouldn't have lousy phone service. i'm going to report them to the police and IRS for wasting my time and scaring me. I hope they burn in hell.
Got two calls within an hour. When I called back, apparently the voice mail was full so I decided to Google the number and landed here. Thanks to everyone who posted. I reported it on the IRS website for scams: http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml
