We just received a call this morning. Same automated message about call back concerning urgent IRS matter time sensitive abs message very garbled and on display showing California 415-251-9049. So being IRA call my husband called right back and was told by person with foreign ? Pakistanian accent that we did not pay taxes in amount if $4897 from 2004 and unless we pay over phone my husband will be arrested in 2 hours. My husband states no warrant was issued for His arrest nor has he received any notice of this until now. Now they calked again and whdn calljng back threatening to screw wife. Called Verizon to see if they can help. Answer no. Called police and they came out and nothing they can do because they can't trace these people who are overseas. In essence nothing we can do except go in kind and block number. Losing faith in american justice system
Received call about 1320 hrs EDST 09/13/14. All of the above comments sounded familiar. Nothing to add except part of the script was to call them back or "have our attorney" to do so.
The above comments seem to indicate call blocking is the only solution available. Except that Chan's comment was that the same script is being pushed out by 202-506-9835 as well as 415-2551-8910.
Got a call from these clowns claiming to be the IRS and they called back with a computer voice and left a nastigram....what a joke....the IRS does not make calls they send letters.... Claimed to be part of the Julie smith IRS investigation and I need an attorney....I think that got that backwards....they need many attorneys for impersonating the IRS....undoubtedly somehow connected to foreign interlopers who are using the San Francisco area as a rendezvous point to scare or get information from unwittingly gullable people....be aware and be on guard
On 13 September 2014 at 0843am and 10am, received two calls from Officer Julie Smith identifying herself to be IRS agent and to call 415-251-8910 about some unspecified matter. Hmm, claiming to be a federal employee?
Sidenote: none of the Call Type descriptions accurately identify hoax or scam or phishing, so checked unknown.
