Same here - got a call today, message was to call 415-287-3798, saying our Credit Union card had been suspended." I called the number and got a female with accent - that was my second clue that something was wrong. Seems like we should have the government resources to put these folks where they belong and protect the citizens!
I got a call from # 720-204-1286, but there was a message that said to call this # 418-287-3798. I called both #'s but neither of them worked. The message said that my card had been deactivated and to call the # to reactivate, but I don't have an account with the bank that was mentioned (a small local bank).
I got a call from unknown caller but there was a message that my card had been suspended and to call the security department at 418-287-3798. My banks website already had the following message posted on it:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION! We have had reports of automated telephone calls to Three Rivers members seeking personal information. These calls are not from Three Rivers! They are attempts to trick you into providing personal information for purposes of identity theft. DO NOT RESPOND to these requests or provide any personal information. If you have already responded or feel your account may be compromised, please contact us immediately
I got a call at 9:56 PM last evening that I picked up on my answering machine this morning. It said my account was suspended and I needed to call the Railroad and Industrial Credit Union at 415-287-3798. It also mentioned a number 152823798. The caller ID showed Unknown Caller. I don't have any relationships with this financial institution so I came right to this site. I did not call the 415 number above.
I received a message on my work phone. Telling me my Midwest Federal Credit Union account was closed. That I needed to call 1-415-287-3798. I don't even carry this card with me. So I went home and called the bank. They said my account was fine and not to call the number. That the caller was trying to get my personal information.
I am very glad to find out I am not the only person to get a call. Mine came in 930pm from just '801'. The message said my 'Cambridge Municipal Federal Credit Union' card was suspended 152873798 with this acct number. I called the number they left for the 24 hour security dept 415-287-3798 and listened to the recording asking for my 16 digit card number.
