I see all the responses here, but I am currently a SFSU student and enployee. This is the generic number that appears when any department from SFSU calls you. It could be the library or the student services building, from my experience. Same number, every time.
Got the same call a moment ago but when i picked up they hung up. Im sure its sfsu because all of their numbers start with 338, and I am a business major so they have my info on record
Just got the same number (338-6986) calling me at 7:22 pm today. I missed the call, they left no message, and I got a generic recording when I called the number. I graduated from SFSU in 2003 (never took a business class), so I'm not sure why they need to get a hold of me.
I'm an SFSU alumn. Been getting calls the past few months, no messages. I'm pretty sure this number is simply being used for SFSU fundraising drives (Office of University Development?). I donated a couple of years ago, and I think this was the number that displayed on my phone back then. Given California's current budget situation, I'd imagine that SFSU has stepped up its fundraising activities exponentially.
I just received 4 attempted fax transmissions (to my cell phone) from this number. I dialed it back and it is an SFSU number. I am not an alum or any way connected to the school but my cell is a 415 number.
My Mother got a call from this number at 8:57 PM last night and she lives in Nevada and has been dead for almost a year. This is not legitimate. She'd never give money to SFSU in a million years. But they asked for her by name and refused to indicate why they were calling.
