I just received the exact same voice mail, word for word. They called twice & left messages both times. So ridiculous. Hope they catch who ever is doing this. I can see how that kind of message may startle someone who is not... as up to speed as most... and could cost them dearly if they call back. Glad I was able to verify it is a SCAM.
When this scammer called me she used the name Equity Bank. She told me I had been approved for a loan for $5000. She asked my name and I gave her a fictitious name and address. She immediately looked up my information. I told her I had not applied for a loan and she stated that 6 months ago I had filled out a loan application form and it had just been approved. Wow, what a bank. Six months to approve a loan of that size. I said I would love a loan because I needed to fix my dog. Crickets. I asked her the terms of the loan. She said that didn't matter, she was going to direct deposit the money directly into my bank account and I would find out the terms later. No, really? I told her I wanted to know the terms for a three year pay back. She put me on hold. When she returned she said I had to put $500 down and pay the loan off in three years. Still no terms mentioned. She wanted my bank account number. I gave her a fake bank, address and account number. She put me on hold again and I hung up. Did I mention she had a heavy Indian accent? Surprise! Don't fall for these thieves Be Safe!
I actually got a message on this one from an "Unavailable" caller at 310-362-5528 that was talking about some type of loan documentation but like a normal scam caller, their message starts in the middle so there was no company name or anything to identify. It asked me to call back at 415-366-0188 which I see from 800notes is another scam site. Don't these idiots have better things to do?
