Officer Johnson left a message and said she was from the IRS: “The hotline to my position is 415-366-6646. Don’t disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Thank you and good-bye”. No accent, sounded like a robotic recording.
When I called back, a man with an Indian type of accent answered the phone. He asked why I was calling and I told him I was returning the call. He asked my name, to which I replied, “You called me. YOU tell ME what my name is”. He mumbled a name and I told him that wasn’t me.
I talked real slow trying to keep him on the phone longer, (1) because I was recording it and (2) so I could listen to what was going on in the background. It sounds like there’s some kind of filter so you can’t hear his voice clearly.
Anyway, when he realized that I was on to him, he told me F___ you. I replied, “Right back at you. I’ve got all I need”.
Received a call from this number. Called back because they didn't leave a message a man with a heavy Indian accent answered saying this is the IRS I asked him questions and he hung up. I called back 3 times and got no answer. This is a scam.
