We received two calls from this number purporting to be representing the IRS. I googled the number and found others who had reported receiving calls in the same week from the same number from the scammer. I also looked up what the IRS website had to say about "IRS Scams". You can expect the IRS to sent you a letter by mail if they need to communicate with you on an issue, NOT phone calls and emails.
Yep, received one as well from this same number at approx 7:30am PST. Voice message saying it was urgent from the IRS and that it was time sensitive. Called back but no one answered. Thankfully, I googled the number and saw these reports. FYI, as an auditor myself for a government contractor I can say with confidence that the IRS always contacts by mail. If you didn't receive a letter from the IRS regarding an issue or an audit, then any random phone call is a scam. You can also look up on the IRS.gov site the real phone numbers to confirm there isn't an issue.
