CALLED THIS # BACK, THE PERSON THERE CLAIMS TO BE DEPT. OF LAW & INVESTIGATION. SAYING THAT MY BOYFRIENDS GRANDFATHER OWES A CREIDT CARD BILL FROM 2005 AND THAT IF IT IS NOT PAID HE WILL BE SUED AND ARRESTED AND GO TO JAIL FOR 30 TO 60 DAYS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT HIS GRANDFATHER PASSED AWAY 20 YEARS AGO. I BELIEVE THIS COULD BE A SCAM BECAUSE A PERSON THAT I WORK WITH GOT A SIMULAR PHONE CALL SAYING THAT HE OWED FOR SOMETHING THAT HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT AND THAT HE WOULD ALSO BE ARRESTED. BE CAREFUL!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF!

Got two calls from this organization...could not understand on either message what they were calling about. When I called back and asked to speak with Nancy Jones (who did not answer the phone since she had an Indian accent and the person who answered clearly did not), I could not hear most of what the answerer was saying because the phone kept cutting out. Was then transferred to Chris Edwards (who also had an Indian accent), he could not give me the name of the Law Firm so I could understand what he was saying and also gave me a similar song and dance as Gram and Cathy got above and said I had two hours to make a decision. Could not locate a law firm with a dept that had a Financial Infraction Division with this phone number. Chris told me he was located in Santa Barbara CA, but when I looked up the number, it says it's a landline in San Francisco. I am not calling them back, nor am I giving them any information.
Received the same call and supposed law office said that I was sued...etc....
I don't even have any credit cards!!! This has got to be a scam. Do not give them any information.
I received one of those phone calls today. I could not understand the man who called telling me he was from the Dept. of Law & Investgation. He also told me that it was very serious. This is just a scam I think. I also received a call yesturday from some lady claiming that there was a lawsuit against me. Well I am a paralegal and they can't sue you unless you are served. As far as I am concerned they all can go pound sand. Be careful and not give any information out. And don't let them bully you. It is against the law on what they are doing. I am going to report this to the police department.
