Robocall saying to call 1-844-889-9160 for "technical support." I called the number and a man with a barely understandable accent told me my ??? account had been hacked by a "foreign hacker" and he would help me recover. I had to ask three times "what account?" and finally understood it was my Apple account. Uh, I don't have an Apple account. Clearly a SCAMMER. The number is now blocked.
I have received at least 8 calls within 6 hours from this scammer group posing as Apple. The message is a recording but at the end you can "press 1" to talk to a representive which I did not. I only answered one call so I could get enough info to file a complaint. They give an 844-889-9160 for further "help" with your iPhone (which I don't have). The appear to use a legitimate SF store location and #.
My husband and I received calls from "Apple 1-415-486-4800"(Caller ID shows) 7 times today (June 2, 2017), every hour since 9:12AM until 3:55PM Pacific Time. They said our 'Apple Account' has been compromised by some unknown person. I told him we don't have Apple devices, but I asked one of the callers what he would do for it. He asked me to go to the computer and open it then he would access to my computer to fix the problem. I told him "There used to be Windows Tech scam, and now Apple Tech scam. It is felony. (He said "Yes." when I said this) Don't call us again. Can you do that?" He said "Yes." But they kept calling.
